New Track:  Walk On By (Live) February 17th, 2011

Dear Folks,

This is our FIRST time playing “Walk On By” as a trio live. We recorded this at Infinity Hall, Norfolk, CT on Thursday February 10th, 2011 to a loving audience. Nothing like warts and all, just like it used to be back when music was great! No auto-tune or harmonizers or re-takes. Find my vocal cracking on a high note - just like the good ol’ days in music! This recording features Ben Wittman on drums, Steve Eliot on guitar and Frank DeGennaro as our sound engineer. I play piano and sing.

As some of you know, I love to honor writers in my set. Sometimes it’s Dolly or Joni or John Lennon. This time it’s Burt Bacharach, with whom I’ve had the sincere honor to perform. The last time I saw Burt, he performed his own “Alfie” on piano. It was heart-breakingly beautiful. (That is probably my favorite song of his…“without true love we just exist”...such an exquisite melody…) Burt Bacharach is a pillar on which contemporary music is built and shaped. Out of my love for his music (especially those gems from the early 60’s with Hal David and Dionne Warwick), I want to share this moment as we together supplicate to the mystery and divinity that is music.

Be well everyone,
